I find some old photos today.

Here is an old pics of Mike Smith's white 67 when it was a street car. Today, Mike's car is still alive in Japan. The owner, Bear, takes really good care of it.

I finally received them.

Those are the legen .......... (wait for it) ................dary wheels made by DDS in the 70's. They are 13 x 4 inch. Real drag wheels. Perfect for my ride.

Some months ago, I was in contact with a very nice dude called Rob.

Back in the 70's 80's, he had a VW shop in the San Diego area called : The Bug Doctor.

Here is a photo of the shop's car :

This photo was taken in 1982 at OCIR (Orange County International Raceway, CA), at a VW drag racing event.

The car was a 1971 Super Beetle, with a fiberglass frontend and decklid. It had polished Centerlines, a lower front end and was painted Ford White Wimbledon. The motor was a 1759cc (87mm x 74mm stroke), dual 48 weber IDAs, ported and polished heads, 12.5:1 compression ratio, a Joe Hunt magneto, etc.

It would turn high 12's in the 1/4 mile.

Unfortunatly, the car no longer exist. Rob parted it out in 1983 and retired of VWs.

Here is what I received some months ago: many old Bug-In dash plaques, and early ones. Now, I am hunting late 70's early 80's dash plaques. I'm open to trade.

TFabs building my narrow beam. Thanks a lot buddy, you're the man. The beam is since finished and painted. 3,5 cm less per side to fit the CB disc brakes kit and 4,5 Erco wheels.

The Steel plates were sold by Chris from Vintage Autohaus (www.vintageautohaus.com). He also has steel plates for later VWs and any kind of Busses.
